Advance is an early maturing intermediate day onion. Bulbs are firm and uniformly globe-shaped with excellent keeping quality. Advance has a small root plate and very thin neck. Advance has multiple attractive, tough golden–brown outer scales. The attractive colour gives a competitive advantage before the main marketing season. Medium to large bulbs are ± 70 % of the total yield grading.
SPECIAL VARIETAL REQUIREMENTS
- The time slot for direct sowing is in April and where seedlings are used, the seed should be sown at the end of April, transplanting will then be done in the first half of August
