  • ATTRACTIVE UNIFORM BULBS WITH A STRAW BROWN SKIN
  • VERY GOOD STORABILITY FOR AN EARLY MATURING VARIETY
  • EXCEPTIONAL DISEASE RESISTANCE PACKAGE

Shinju is an early maturing F1 hybrid short day brown onion. Shinju produces uniform, slightly flattened globe to high globe-shaped bulbs with a straw brown scale leaf. The bulbs are neat with a thin neck and a small root plate. Shinju’s bulbs are firm with a strong outer scale leaf and good retention which is indicative of good storage ability. Shinju has a vigorous root system with high resistance against pink root (Phoma terrestris syn. Pyrenochaeta terrestris) and Fusarium basal plate rot (Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cepae). Shinju is suitable for direct seeding as well as seedling transplants.
